DESCRIPTION
Biological Activity: Rhod-2 is a high-affinity Ca2+ fluorescent probe excitable by visible light. Rhod-2 AM is the acetoxymethyl (AM) ester derivative of Rhod-2, which is cell-membrane permeable. After simple incubation, it readily enters cells and is cleaved by intracellular esterases to yield non-permeant Rhod-2, which is retained intracellularly to report Ca2+ dynamics. Excitation/Emission (nm) = 552/581.
