Sulfo-Cy5 NHS ester is a water-soluble, amine-reactive cyanine fluorescent dye used to label amino groups of peptides, proteins, and oligonucleotides. The NHS (N-hydroxysuccinimide) group reacts with primary amines (–NH₂) on proteins or other molecules to form stable amide bonds with sulfo-Cy5. This makes it particularly suitable for labeling denatured proteins in the presence of organic co-solvents or low-solubility proteins. Ex/Em(nm)=649/670.
