DESCRIPTION
Biological Activity: DAPI is a fluorescent dye that binds strongly to double-stranded DNA, preferentially at A/T-rich regions in the minor groove (one DAPI molecule occupies approximately three base pairs). Upon binding, its fluorescence intensity increases ~20-fold, enabling DNA quantification. DAPI is cell-permeable and commonly used for staining both live and fixed cells.
