DESCRIPTION
Cyanine5 Maleimide is a thiol-reactive near-infrared dye (ex/em 649/670 nm) for covalent cysteine conjugation. This non-sulfonated reagent forms stable thioether bonds with sulfhydryl groups (pH 6.5-7.5), enabling site-specific labeling of proteins, peptides, and thiolated biomolecules. Exhibits excellent solubility in anhydrous DMSO (>10 mM) and low non-specific binding.
For aqueous applications, use sulfo-Cyanine5 Maleimide. Store under argon at -80°C protected from light.
