DESCRIPTION
Cyanine5 SH, a sulfhydryl-functionalized near-infrared fluorophore (ex/em 649/670 nm). Non-sulfonated reagent exhibiting excellent solubility in organic solvents (e.g., DMF, DMSO) and limited aqueous compatibility. The free thiol group enables site-specific conjugation to maleimide- or iodoacetyl-activated targets while maintaining Cy5’s fluorescence for biomolecular tracking.
For aqueous labeling applications, consider sulfo-Cyanine5 Maleimide. Store under argon at -80°C to prevent oxidation.
